CS6 License after hardware change - in 2025

I still have CS6 on two systems.
I had to swap the hardware on one (for a CC installed in parallel). Unfortunately, the CS6 license went up in smoke. It no longer accepts my serial number because the maximum number of licenses has been purchased.
Am I out of luck because I didn't release the license beforehand? Could I do this if I temporarily insert the SSD into the original system?
Any other ideas?
The hotline just told me that CS6 is no longer supported.

yes, if you restore the previous hardware, your cs6 should be activated.  you should then make sure your os is updated and your default browser is updated (and is not opera).  then open a cs6 app > click help > deactivate.

if you were careful to update your software as described that should allow you to activate cs6 on another computer. eg, the computer with a hardware change.

Unless you have access to the original device on which CS6 was previously installed, yes. You've reached the end of the road.

13-year-old apps can't be deactivated remotely.  You need access to the device and the CS6 app's HELP menu.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
