It is a stand-alone license, done from a clean install to 10.8.

AFTER securing/saving your serial number, open one cs6 program>click help> deactivate.
uinstall your cs6 programs.
clean per Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
restart your computer
upgrade your os.
reinstall your cs6
