CS6 update?

My old computer died. I had CS6 installed from a disc. My new computer does not have a disc drive. Are these my only options: Buy an external disc drive or convert to the cloud version? Would there be an additional charge for converting? One complication: the last time I tried to update my CS6 on the old machine, I got an error message - a file was missing.  Since that info was on the old computer, I can't remember the name of the missing file.

no, you can download the installation files.  installation may be a problem if you have an incompatible (eg, newer) os.

upgrading to the latest cc programs is an additional charge.

to update to the last cs6 version, use the adobe updates page after installation, by downloading the files directly and then applying them, http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!
