Windows 10 Pro x64

I have just installed my DVD of CS6 from its original box.

The code number is on the back of the box.

It is only the second computer I have installed it on.

I went to activate it and got the error message: "Valid code but qualifying product could not be found on this computer."

What's the probelm, please?

Thanks.

Denis

your cs6 license is for an upgrade version.

when starting your installation you're prompted for your cs6 serial number.  when the installer fails to find a qualifying product (ie, previous version) installed, you will be presented with a dropdown of possible qualifying products.  select the one you own.  you will then be asked to enter the qualifying products serial number.

enter the correct number at the correct time and installation will proceed.

    You are correct!

I've just noticed it says Upgrade on the CS6 box.

    So....

    1. I still have my boxed copies of CS5, CS4, CS3, CS2 (Upgrade) and CS (Upgrade).

    2. I presume that 5, 4 and 3, not being Upgrade versions, will all be "qualifying products"?

    3. So, can I simply input one of their serial numbers when prompted by the CS6 Upgrade launcher?

    4. Or, must I first install one of the non-Upgrade versions and only then launch CS6 again? (If so, which one? CS5?)

If possible I'd rather have as little as possible on my HD.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Sorted!

I inputted the CS6 Upgrade code when prompted.

I then chose CS5 from the dropdown menu that appeared and inputted its code and CS6 launched.

    No need to install CS5.

    Many thanks.
