Deactivate LR6 Desktop

Have looked and followed Adobe's "deactivation" process for LR6 Desktop, but none of it works.

I look on my account and it shows I have the license, but NO activated PC's.  I uninstalled LR6 from one laptop and move it to new one - but the "Abobe Cloud" crap has now locked me out.

Heard the LR6 server for activation / deactivation was shutdown years ago, so how does Adobe or the "new" cloud server know how many PC's I have it installed on.  Again, by my Adobe Account it has no PC's registered.

Last time I did this a few years back, I had to contact Adobe Tech Support to get it resolved, but that seems gone as well.  I know they want me to upgrade, but see no purpose since I' m not a pro photographer who needs all those updates.

Deactivation is now only available if you have access to the application on the computer to be deactivated.

Kind of hard to deactivate on the computer when there is no toolbar function to do so.  That has been my point all along - I TRIED to deactivate per what Adobe puts up on it's page.  Even looked on my PC that stil has and has had LR on it for a couple of years - NOTHING.

I dod get with Adobe Support and had a CS who seems to understand the issue and was going to fwd it up to higher level.

I went thru this same ordeal a couple of years ago and ONLY ADOBE could deactivate the unused PC.  Once "they did it" I could install it on my new PC and worked fine.

The even tried to sell me a subscription with 3 months FREE, but they told me it was going to be $130 per yer.  Sorry, when it's $9.95 per month and you give me 3 months FREE - that DOES NOT EQUAL $130.

We'll see if Adobe comes thru to deactivate the keys on the unused PC's.

adobe support no longer can deactivate older apps.

re: your lr6 that's on your older computer, when you click help only "activate" is clickable, not "deactivate"?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

    before uninstalling, did you deactivate?

if not, is that older computer still available?

I could not deactivate it on the old computer - as I've been told by Adobe and other posters with same issues that the old LR6 activation / serial # server was deactivated years ago, so the procedure as Adobe outlines deactivating the software is not there in the tool bar.
