Question

Deactivating/reactivating CS5

I have owned CS5 for years. Unfortunately, I need to reinstall my OS and would like to be able to reinstall and reactivate the license I paid for with Adobe. However, since Adobe has declared EOL on CS5 - their servers no longer acknowledge my product. I cannot deactivate the product - which I assume also means that were I to reinstall - their servers would not reactivate the product either.
There appears to be no customer service line or email that I can address this issue. (the numbers I've called dead end me when i select enough options to indicate that its an older adobe product)

Is there any solution to this?
Doing a subscription is cost prohibitive to me.

You can deactivate. Please go to Adobe Customer Service and only ask to have your activations reset (make sure to sign in to your Adobe account first and allow popups on your browser):
https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen will automatically open the chat window.
Type "Agent" in the chat box to bypass the chatbot and be connected to a person.

You may also be able to contact Adobe by phone:

@robr44802798 and @17511605, as mentioned by @John T Smith, you're both incorrect (to date): cs5 activation servers are still active.

@robr44802798,

1. you can deactivate all older cs versions, including cs5.

2. you didn't include enough info to determine why you're having trouble activating. @John T Smith mentioned some solutions for some problems.

3. if those solutions don't work, what's your os and what's the problem?  a screenshot of the error message (if there is one) would be helpful.

As far as I know, only CS4 and earlier activation servers have been retired

TLS 1.2 is now required to connect https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html
-on Windows be sure to do the EASYFIX.MSI in step 2 of the above link
-test your browser https://clienttest.ssllabs.com:8443/ssltest/viewMyClient.html
