Deleted files

Hey Everyone, 

 I have a question.  If you share your file and mark it "can contribute " does that mean they can delete files as well? I sent my client her pictures and I know 100% they were there. 40 pictures added to the file then sent the email.  Then the client comes back and states that there are no pictures.  I am so upset, it took me forever to edit these pictures.  It was a Newborn session and the baby has baby acne.  If anyone can help me in any way. Is tgere a way to get thise files back? I have the originals in my cloud. So, I am editing all of them again. But, I am hoping there is a way. Some where some how.
