Design Standard CS5.5 Dutch on English OSX

Hi,

I'm running into a stupid licensing issue with Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 - Dutch.

When I install the creative suite, it nicely detects that my license is for the Dutch language.

As a result, it installs Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign with the corresponding language packs.

Acrobat however, seems to install without language packs and seems to be corresponding to the system-language.

(OSX Sierra 10.12.1)

Meaning if I install the suite when OSX is set to Dutch, it opens Acrobat Pro just fine.

Once I switch the OSX language to English (my preferred language for the OS) it keeps on complaining the serial isn't correct.

I understand this is logical in a way, since it thinks I want to run Acrobat Pro as an English version, while my license only covers the Dutch language.

However, I don't want Acrobat Pro in English. I simply want to use it and I should be able, since I own a license.

Unfortunately, the only way I've been able to use Acrobat is by switching my OSX to Dutch, which I simply don't want to do...

Could someone tell me how to fix this 'bug'?

E.g. why can I use all other applications from the suite just fine, when the OSX is running in English, except for Acrobat Pro?

Seems like a silly bug to me?

Many thanks in advance!
Mark

Hi Atul_Saini,

Thanks!
Tried that, but unfortunately I get the same results...

It installs fine, I can open Photoshop without any problems (OSX is in English, Photoshop opens in Dutch, so perfect), but once I try to open Acrobat after this, it still brings up the dialog asking for a serial number.

If I enter the one I have (Dutch), it tells me it's not valid serial number for this product. (Simply because Acrobat seems to be using English, not in Dutch.)

If I switch OSX language to Dutch and reboot, it opens fine...

Once I switch OSX language back to English, I get the dialog again...

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!
Mark

Hi Mark,

Could you please share the exact OS version so that we may test it at our end and share the results with you? If needed, I would include the experts from Acrobat forums to check if they have any comments to add to this.

Thanks.

Hi Flickering%20Wall,

Thanks for explaining the situation in detail, as you were unable to use Acrobat in Dutch on English OS language, I would request you to try following steps and share the results.

  1. Uninstall the whole suite Design Standard 5.5 .
  2. Make sure that the language is switched in English.
  3. Download Design Standard 5.5 using this link:- Download Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 products
  4. If you have already downloaded this in English using that link, please install it in Dutch language.
  5. Activate it by opening any software other than Acrobat.

Thanks.
