Desk top computer will not load or read Elements 10 disc

I recieve Elements 10 for Christmas.  I put the first disc in and it does not even load?   I just loaded a wireless network software disc on and it worked fine.  My computer is a 2007 Dell Inspiron 531s and am wondering if it is too old to support this software?  Any help would be great.  I would assume if it could not support it, at least the disc would try to load?  Thanks

    If you look at your optical drive does it have a DVD symbol on it?  It is possible you might only have a CD drive and not a DVD drive.
