DMG file is blank when downloading PSE on macOS 10.13.3

When I double click the installer file it opens a blank directory titled 'm.' I cannot find a similar topic on these support forums. What is the issue here? I use a macbook pro high sierra 10.13.3 and I downloaded this file using chrome. I could not access downloads on safari.
