When exactly do you get that message? Which version of MAC os do you have? Which adobe application are you trying to install?
Try the below step and check if that helps :
> Go to Finder > Type Disk Utility > Preferences and simply uncheck the box that says "Verify Checksums" . Close Disk Utility.
Now try opening the DMG file. DMG should open fine and the program should install without any issues.
NOTE: You might want to re-check the verify checksums box after you've finished the installation though because it's there to help prevent the installation of corrupted .dmgs that could potentially harm your computer.

Mac OS 10.5.8 snow leapard installing Adobe CS5.5 still says not recognized. this has happened before and it may be the wrong file downloaded.
