Do I need a 4K Monitor for Adobe CC

Hi all.

I'm looking to get a new monitor(s). I currently have 2 older Samsung 22" HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen monitors and use both, but only really need 1 "great" monitor.

I have a pretty sweet custom built workstation that will support 4K but do I really need a 4K monitor if I don't do much hi-res photo work?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Clay

You don't need a 4k monitor unless you really want to have one. Totally not necessary. If you were doing a large amount of video work, I would say sure, why not. But still not necessary unless you have to do 4k video.

To add to this: high resolution monitors ask for a powerful graphics card, as there are a lot of pixels to shuffle around.

Just as a matter of workflow: I find it more easy to work on 2 monitors than one big one. I delegate one monitor to hold the palettes, the other to be available for the data. However: a colleague places her windows in such a way that they pass over to the second screen. She would be better off with one bigger screen.

IMO: It is more useful to have a monitor you could calibrate.
