Does importing photos to the Adobe Organizer move the files from their location on the hard drive?

Does importing photos to the Adobe Organizer move the files from their location on the hard drive?  I have over 30,000 photos and I'd like to know how the organizer operated before attempting to import them in bulk. The sub folders are named in the format "YYYY-MM-DD Name" for "date taken + Name".  How would organizer handle these folders and files?
