Question

downloaded trial version, indesign crashes now

I downloaded the trial version of CS6 and now I can't open any InDesign file.  I had CS5 from my employer on my old computer, which transferred over to my new computer when I set everything up.  Is the old suite causing these problems?  Nothing will open, either in the trial version of CS6 that I downloaded from Adobe, or from the old suite of programs (CS5).  Can I just get rid of the CS5 programs and start fresh with my own license for CS6?  If so, can you tell me how to uninstall the old suite and start up with the new?  I don't want to purchase the license until I know I've solved this problem, since I can't open anything…!

Livingoncandy did you migrate/transfer/copy over the applications to your new installation?  If so then please run all available uninstallers in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  After all of the available uninstallers have been run you will then want to run the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal.

Once you have removed the current installations you can then reinstall the software.  The installation files for Creative Suite 5 and 6 are available at Other downloads.

If you have a volume license then the installation files for Creative Suite 5 are only available under the applicable account at https://licensing.adobe.com/.
