i have just started a web design course. I need a free download of Photoshop CS4. The school gave me a version to download but it is not compatible with my machine and tells me to enquire of Adobe if they have a 64 bit version. I am running windows 7.

Can anyone help?

Huh? What did they give you? 32bit programs will run just fine on 64bit operating systems if they are reasonably recent. That includes any version of PS and DW since CS4. Not sure what else you are looking for or what your school told you a not current release would fix - unless they still use versions from the stone age, which is doubtful. Anyway, feel free to download CS4 versions using this method:

Direct Download Links for Adobe Software

Just keep in mind that after the 30day trial period you're back to square one - you can no longer buy these old versions, so whatever issues exist between you, your school, your computer and the mighty deities of the universe still need to be resolved...

Thanks for that. Looks like the school provided me with a 16-bit version.

I guess there shouldn’t be too many changes and when it comes to doing my certification at the end of the year I am sure that they are going to test on latest versions.

    Thanks once again.
