Downloading a Photoshop Elements Mac trial — download/install does not start

I tried to download the Adobe PhotoShop Elements 11 trial on my iMac 27 (osx Mountain Lion). All went well with the "Download Assistant" requirement but the actual app install did not start.

Are there problems with the OS? This program looks amazing but, as a recent PC fugitive, I'd like to try it.

Suggestions please.

    Try downloading PSE 11 using the Direct download link and install.

    No there are no problems with PE 11 working on your OS.

    After downloading it with the download assistant did you run the .dmg file to install it?
