Question

Downloading an older version of PS to another computer

I used to have an older version of PS, it required a disk to install it but I don't have the disk. Can I download it to my computer only using the serial number or do I need the disk?

It all depends on the version # and type of license you purchased.

Check your Adobe Account for details by logging in at https://account.adobe.com.

We can't help you with Student/Teacher or volume licenses.  You need your original disk.

We also cannot help you with CS2 or earlier as those versions are officially dead.

As of 8-19-19 downloads for non-Cloud programs are back
Program installers https://www.adobe.com/gr_en/downloads/other-downloads.html
If you are not able to find your program installer at 'other-downloads' read below

Aip_servesense, what version of Photoshop are you attempting to install?  If it is Creative Suite 6 and earlier, then please locate the installation files, on the disk, that was provided with your purchase.

I'm pretty sure it was Creative Suite 6. If I locate the installation files on the disk and transfer them over to my new computer can I download PS that way? Will I still need to use the serial number?

Yes, AIP_servesense, once you locate your CS6 installation files then you should face no problems with the install process.  If you are installing on macOS 10.12 to 10.14, then please see https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html for a workaround to begin the install process.
