downloading c5.5 to macbook, can't install

I have adobe c5.5 on my desktop and just got a new macbook. I downloaded it to the macbook, but the mac won't let me open it because it didn't come from itunes. There were instructions to override the message, but it didn't work. Help!

    Which Macbook exactly?

    Macbooks running OS X don't require software via iTunes so not sure why you're getting that message.

    Thank you for responding. I have an OS X version 10.9.2, 2.6 GH Intel Core i5, memory GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Mac HD , 13 inch retina.
