I keep getting error messages and the program closes. What do I do?

Lightsaber17 what Adobe CC application is closing?  Do you receive a specific error message?  Which operating system are you using?

I am using Internet Explorer 8. When I try to update the Creative Cloud it starts but then shuts down (or it says there is an update even though I am already in the process, and if I click on cancel it closes and if I click on update it starts to run and then shuts down).

Somewhat frustrating. I had a problem once before and had to delete a plugin but can't remember which one. Can you offer advice?
