When I try to download Creative Cloud, I click on “open file” in the downloads folder, and it won’t open the file.

you can’t use portfolio for free.  adobe free apps are limited to adobe reader, firefly and express.

ie, until you have money to spend, adobe isn’t the best choice.  it’s geared towards professionals.

I am attempting to download it for free. I don’t know if I have any active subscriptions. I don’t have much money. I am just attempting to use the free apps for now. I would like to get on Behance and make some money. I don’t know what Creative Cloud is, but I want to use it. I would very much like to use Illustrator, too, but I don’t have money. I am using a Dell laptop.

    Thanks for the update, Mother_of_pearl.

As Kglad mentioned, we don't offer many free or even freemium offerings. All of them are available outside of the Creative Cloud Desktop app. Equally, if an organization manages the computer you are using, it may be impossible to install the Creative Cloud Desktop app without the help of the people who manage the devices and networks.

Is there a particular free offering, besides Portfolio, that you are trying to use, Mother_of_pearl? ^JW

    Thank you for posting, Mother_of_pearl.

I apologize for any problems you have encountered getting started with the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

What type of Creative Cloud subscription are you using? I don't see any active subscriptions associated with the account you used to post to this public discussion forum.

Do you receive any error messages? What type of computer are you opening the Creative Cloud Desktop app on? Can you provide us with more details about its capabilities?

Please see https://adobe.ly/4yuULwP to begin the download and install process.

Kglad and I look forward to your updates, Mother_of_pearl. ^JW
