Downloading/Installing CS6

Once again I have wasted an evening trying to install CS 6.  I bought it in September, and spent an entire frusatrating day installing it on my laptop, and gave up before I got it successfully installed on the desktop.  I have downloaded both the .7z and the .exe file.  When I try to get these both into the same folder, I am told that it is already there.  When I try to RUN, I am told that part of the download is missing.  Any hints?

Hi finlemad,

Did you download the software from : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html

Do you have any intermittent network connectivity issues that might be corrupting the download file?

Did you retry the download and check?

Alternatively you can try downloading it from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html

But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

I downloaded it from My Orders on the Adobe website.

Internet is 100%, almost never a problem.  Computer is hardwired (not Wi-Fi), and wire is less than a year old clear to the pole outside.

I downloaded both 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 each twice..The issue seems to be that when they are saved, there is no file extension, so when I tried to put the second one in the same folder as the first, Windows thought that it was already there.  I changed the name on the second one by adding "Part 2 of 2" before the name that Adobe provided.  I was then able to get them into the same folder.

I see now that the first section of the downloads is a document.  My serial number showed up in the second part, so I downloaded it and skipped the first part.  After reading your reply, I downloaded and printed the first section.

Thanks to your help, I've got it downloading now.

Also important to record the exact location that the files are extracted to, so you can go right to it.

Installed, open, and running.  THANKS!
