I purchased a down load for my Son several years ago for College .  He put one on his laptop and I down loaded the other one on  my I Mac so he could use it at home during the summer.  ( and I could play with it also) He has since graduated from College.  I still have the old version on my I Mac, but just purchased a Mac book pro and wanted to re-install on my new Mac book pro.  I still have the serial numbers on my purchased version.  Is it possible to transfer this?

    no, you can't transfer programs.

you would need to download the installation file and the public downloads don't include education versions.  you would need to download from the school's portal and there are several reasons that would now fail.  one is given above.

<He has since graduated from College>

Only qualifying Students / Teachers can activate & use the Student/Teacher Editions.   Sounds like that ship has sailed.

I will presume you mean CS6

The license allows TWO activations, so you must DE-activate on old computer before installing on new computer

You then install on the new computer the same as you did on the old one

    Download & Install instructions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003339

-and many help and download links https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html

-kglad links in reply #1 here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2296468 may help

-you will need to enter your original serial number during install for non-Cloud programs

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan/Sierra

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or Sierra
