Question

Dreaded "Update Required"

Hi.

Win 10 Pro, 64-bit, 24GB RAM

Version 20H2

OS build: 19042.1288

My old HDD crached and I replaced it with a SSD. I need to install all my software again.

One of them is PS CC 2017

I am getting the dreaded message when running "setup.exe". I have read a lot but cannot seem to find a solution:

Update required

Your browser or operating system is no longer supported. You may need to install the latest updates to your operating system.   Learn more

I changed Edge to operate in IE mode only and that hasn't helped.

I considered going the route by inserting the additional keys in the registry but don't know how to.

Can someone please help me get this installed? I will REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks.

1. Go to Windows search (spyglass icon).

2. Type winver and run the command.

3. What version of Windows 10 do you have?  The current Win10 version is 21H1.  It's recommended that you use the current version.

4. Please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + OS + all other apps you use. Check each one.

Hope that helps.

One thing that has worked for photoshop elements users experiencing the same error your seeing is to install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application, then install photoshop.

Adobe no longer supports TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Please check your system that you're enabled the Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 protocol.

For more infos take a look here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html#faq

If you're using Win 7 please upgrade your OS and install the MS Easy Fix.

Update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP in Windows (microsoft.com)

Also upgrade your browsers to enable TLS 1.2 connections.
