I donwloaded elearning 2.5 as an upgrade to  Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 dowloaded was fine, install was fine until fatal error with messages about incompatibility. I am unclear as to whether elearning 2.5 is upgradeable from Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 or if there is a larger issue? HELP

It is applicable for what is known as an upsell.  This is a specially discounted price which basically gives you the full version of the e-learning suite.  If you are being asked for a qualifying serial number then it sounds like you purchased the upgrade instead.  Is this the behavior which you are currently experiencing?

I was asked for a serial number. Under the Adobe Buying Guide for elearning 2.5 it states:

If you have    Upgrade to eLearning Suite 2.5

Adobe® Captivate® 5.5, 5, 4, 3,or 2

$1,399

Adobe Photoshop® CS5, CS4, CS3 or CS2 or Adobe Photoshop CS5, CS4, CS3 Extended

$1,399

Adobe Flash® Professional CS5.5, CS5, CS4 or CS3, or Macromedia® Flash Professional 8

$1,399

Adobe Acrobat® Pro Extended 9 or Acrobat Suite

$1,399

Adobe Creative Suite®  3 or 2, or Macromedia Studio 8

$949

Adobe Creative Suite® 4

$649

Adobe eLearning Suite 2 and Adobe Creative Suite® 5

$399

Since I own adobe creative suite 5.5 I bought the upgrade but the installation is giving me nothing but problems. I get the following

Exit Code: 7

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------

- 1 fatal error(s), 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)

ERROR: DW020: Found payload conflicts and errors:

ERROR: DW020:  - Adobe Flash CS5.5 depends on Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX to be installed.

FATAL: DW020: Conflicts were found in the selected payloads. Halting installation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------

I am familiar with the errors and warnings generated during adobe product installation typicall the DW020 associated with adobe flash player 10 ActiveX is considered an ignorable error dure to the skip of install for the older component. However with elearning 2.5 I am getting the following FATAL error

Any help is appreciated

Dianne

Did you install a beta version of any of our products if so please remove it and try the installation again.  If not then I would recommend removing all installed Adobe Creative software.  Once this has done you would want to follow up by using the Clean up tool.  Details for the cleaner tool can be located at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  Finally once the cleaner tool has been run then please try the installation again.
