Error: 16

I bought CS6 Design Standard a couple of years ago and have it running on a MacBook Pro. Recently this laptop has been behaving oddly so I bought a MacMini for security. I wanted to install CS6 onto the Mini, but am experiencing problems doing so. I downloaded the software from the Adobe site and tried to open it but it displayed an error window and advised that I uninstall and re-install, which I did. When I opened the second download and typed in the serial number a window was displayed with a message to contact Adobe as there was a problem with the serial number. A return to the Adobe website shows this is no longer possible and you end up going round in circles whatever link you click on.

At this point I quit and re-opened the application and now have a new message: Configuration error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen. Error: 16

Does anyone know what this means? I know it is not related to the number of installs as I have only installed the software on one computer so far. I believe the Mac Mini (Mac mini - Late 2014, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5) will run the software, so don't understand why there is a problem. My MacBook Pro needs to go in for repair so I am desperate to get CS6 onto my Mac Mini so I can carry on working!
