Error 43 - I can't download any CC adobe apps or creative cloud manager

I can not get the creative cloud installer to install on my Mac, I get an error 43...any suggestions, I've tried correcting permissions, I had CC2014 apps that I could not open so it asked me to uninstall and reinstall the product. I didn't have the applications manager on my machine so I used each of the applications uninstallers to remove them. Still can't install even a trial application. After trying all of this I installed El Capitan for the OS to see if that would help, no. Any ideas? I've tried as many of the "fixes" as possible without having the application manager or other files that the fixes suggest doing something to.

Any ideas?

Hi Valerie,

This error that you are getting is related to network, if the Adobe servers are not able to connect to your machine this error shows up , however this is only related to the Creative Cloud desktop app.

You can definitely install the Adobe Application manager 9.0 and update that to Creative cloud app, if it still fails i would suggest you to download the Creative cloud app from the direct download link.

Please follow the below steps to download and install the Creative Cloud app from direct download link:

1) Open following link https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html

2) Open a new tab in the same browser

3) Open following link in that tab http://prodesigntools.com/trials2/AdobeProducts/KCCC/1/win32/ACCCx3_4_1_181.zip

4) Unzip the files using 7zip or winrar

4) Install creative cloud using the setup file obtained after unzipping the file

Note: It is important to do it step by step as opening first link is to make sure you do not get access denied error while using second link in that browser.

Hi Valerie,

Please follow the below steps:

1- Force Quit the below processes in the same sequence as mentioned below from Activity Monitor: see, Use Activity Monitor on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Creative Cloud
  • Core sync & Core sync Helper
  • CC library & CCX processes
  • Adobe Desktop Common
  • Adobe Update daemon
  • After this anything that says adobe on it do a force quit for it

2- Go To: Finder > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installer > Uninstall Adobe Creative cloud ( if having trouble uninstalling it Trash it )

3- Go To: Finder > Applications > Utilities > ( Delete these two folders - Adobe creative cloud and Adobe Application Manager )

4- Then run the cleaner tool to remove creative cloud and Adobe Application Manager ( if still left in machine )

5- Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To" Folder option.

6- You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( " Do not miss ~ symbol " )

~/library ( It will open User Library folder. )

7- Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe> trash OOBE folder and AAM Updater folder as well

8- Again > Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To" Folder option.> You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.

/library ( It will open System Library folder.)

9- Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe> trash OOBE folder and Adobe Application Manager / after this rename the file SL-STORE as SL-STORE_OLD

10- Run Adobe Cleaner tool. > If present, Select the option "Adobe Application Manager for Mac OS X 10.6" and then click on "Clean up Selected" .

11- Click on the below link and download Creative Cloud Installer file and use the same to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

Hello,

I had tried these steps earlier. I tried the step below again again and get the Error code: 43.

When I did the cleaner, the only file that was in there was a host file? I tried updating to El Capitan, no luck with that either.

I had removed each of my adobe applications with the uninstallers that were in their application folders since I didn’t have the Applications Manager on my machine. Then I found a forum about installing the 9.0 version, which actually installed but still wasn’t able to install any apps through. I’m using this through the university.

Since I went through the steps below again I don’t have any adobe app mgrs on my machine.

Should I try installing the 9.0 version again and try to update it?

I’m on a Macbook pro, version 10.20.5
