I am new to macs with a macbook pro with M1 processor. I was trying to install the adobe creative cloud desktop app. I got a message saying I needed to download rosetta which seemed strange but it wouldn't proceed with the install without it. I clicked ok then got an error which simply stated "An error occurred while installing the selected updates." No other designation and I cannot seem to find any way around the problem.

I solved my own problem by closing down the computer and restarting. I was able to go through the installation process again from the beginning. The only thing I did different was to enter my password when asked instead of using my apple watch for security. Not sure that is what made a difference but I thought it might possibly help someone else strugglingwith the problem.
