Error installing PSE 10 on Mac

When trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac... I see "“Install” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image."

I've tried following solutions on here but nothing has worked so far, I've tried install > show package content > Contents > Mac OS > Install... this shows the same error message that install can't be opened.

I'm not sure what else to try?

Thanks in advance

K

Thank you, the solution above that suggested looking for a log file, didn't work, for some reason there was no log file at least nothing I could locate using the suggested solutions.

I did manage to install PSE 10 eventually by doing the following:

    • Mounting PSE 10
    • Double clicking on icon
    • Right clicking and selecting Show Package Content
    • Navigating through Content > Mac OS

Opening Terminal (I just searched on my Mac)

    • Drag the install file from the Mac OS folder into terminal
    • Press return

This kicked the installer into gear and I finally have it installed

Exactly which version of the operating system?

Below is about CS6 (and earlier) but your PSE-10 is about the same age

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan or later operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or Sierra

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility
