I have recently upgraded my computer from a MacBook to an iMac.  I have Adobe Creative Suite 4 which I have installed onto the new computer.  When I try to open indesign I get the error message 5 - Licensing for this product has stopped working.  I got the same error when I started using Photoshop on the new computer but was able to get assistance fromAdobe support and this is now working fine.  I can't recall the steps needed to rectify the problem and so I need this help again.

I am having a similar issue and would like help. My computer needed to be erased and rebooted from back up. It is no longer allowing me to use any of my Adobe products from CS4. Error 150-30. If you figure out an answer, it might be helpful to me, too. Thanks! for passing it on if you can.

Both of these errors occur when the applications have been copied/migrated to the new computer as opposed to being installed.

I would recommend running all available uninstallers within the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once this is done please run the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal.  You can find details on the use of the CC Cleaner Tool at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

Finally if you need a fresh copy of the installation files you can download them at Other downloads.

I just installed CS4 from my discs. I was able to open Photoshop and Acrobat briefly yesterday. Haven't checked them yet today... but I realized that the Adobe Updater no longer worked when I opened those programs. So I manually downloaded the updates. Today I started the update process with InDesign. The update would not install as it said the InDesign was not installed

(?). So I opened InDesign, and it showed the following; Licensing for this product has stopped working.  Error 5

Please note that we are talking about CS4 here, not CC!!!

Also, there were a lot of licensing issues with CS3 and CS4. So many that they provided the License Recovery app, which I downloaded as per instructions. It might have worked in the past, but does not work now. I contacted support and they will not help. They pointed me to the forums for help. Great...

I have tons of notes to try other things. I will post back if I find anything. At this point, it might only be InDesign? I have not used that one on my other computer. A few months ago I did a clean install of Mavericks, and then CS4. I have only been using Photoshop and Illustrator. I don't think I even tried to open InDesign... yet! Oh my. Can't verify that computer right now.

I am glad I took the screenshot, and posted it here... because I just noticed the "restart your computer". This process is all very tiring! I have done that many times, but maybe it wants it again... ???
