Error when trying to update my Adobe Download assistant using Mac OS X 10.7.5

Hi, I am an Adobe Creative Cloud member, and I am using a Mac OS x 10.7.5. I am having difficulties with my ADA. It looks like there is an update available, but I am unable to update due to an error message received, "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I have read through some forums and it looks like it is suggested to remove the ADA and reinstall it via a trial version, but I am already a user so I don't have that option. Since I am a member, is it even necessary to have the ADA? I'm not all that techy, and really I am just trying to update my Adobe Flash player...but that isn't working either, so I am wondering if the ADA having an error has any relation as to why my Adobe Flash player won't properly update?

Would greatly appreciate feedback!

Thank you for your time!
