Question

Every time I quit CC and restart, it asks for permission to make changes, when trying to update LR. I enter admin password every time, so why doesn't it get saved?

I'm unable to update LR and PS due to connection problem to the Adobe servers. This is a problem that many, many, many people have been reporting over many years. I'm want this to be solved also of course, but first I want to figure out why CC keeps asking for permission to make changes. Many programs do this the first time, but ONLY the first time. Then it is saved. But not for CC though. Is this an OSX issue or an Adobe issue?

Normally your system is the one that asks about permission to make changes since it is trying to protect itself from unwanted/unintended changes.

As far as connection issues go...

Make sure you are logged in to the Adobe site, have cookies enabled, clear your cookie cache.  If it fails to connect try using a different browser.

Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later, Acrobat DC

Now it works!??? I didn't do anything, but I can see that a new folder Adobe has been created in Programs folder. It contains another folder called AdobePatchFiles with a number of .zip files. How did this happen?

It's nice that it seems to work again, but it kind of frustrating. I have spend hours looking through Adobe sites and forums for a solution that actually works. And then 20 minutes after posting this, it works. Not because of the answer provided. I didn't do any of that. It just solved itself. Maybe others with the same kind of server connection problems could benefit from this patch???
