Question

Every week, Lightroom asks me for the seriel number to install and I lose all settings!

I'm beyond frustrated!  Every single week, when I click to open Lightroom, a box pops up asking me for my seriel number. As if I'm installing it for the first time.  So every week I go through the steps and when I get into Lightroom again, the photos I was working on are still there, but all my settings and custom presets have been wiped out.

I reset my settings, and they are good every time I go back into the program until about a week goes by and I'm asked for the seriel number again and everything is back to zero.  It's groundhogs day over here and I'm losing mind!  I can't find any answers online and of course, there is no one to call.  I can't keep doing this over and over.  It's sucking up so much time having to customize all my presets & settings again and again.

I do not have a trial period.  I purchased the full program!

PLEASE HELP

Nfulton what version of Lightroom are you needing to re-enter your serial number each week for?   What operating system are you using?  Finally, and most importantly, what system optimizers or utilities are being run on the computer on a weekly time period?

I have Windows 10.  Lightroom 5.  I'm not sure what you mean by stytem optimizers or utilites?

Thank you for the update Nfulton.  A system optimizer is an application which may attempt to optimize your computer by removing or modifying files.

I would recommend that you keep track of the next occurrence and review any utilities or software titles that may be affecting the licensing files on your computer.  You can use the Task Manager to keep track of processes which may not be visible.  You can find more details on how to utilize the Task Manager at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/323527/how-to-use-and-troubleshoot-issues-with-windows-task-manager.
