Existing Adobe Account prevents me registering product

I bought Photoshop Elements 11 and Premier Elements 11 for my new iMAC.

When I was asked to register there was a message to say that I was already registered with my email. (I had bought a student edition for my PC some years ago.)

I have long forgotten the old password.

I changed the password and re-entered it.

A Window appeared with my name and space for the new password. When I entered my new password; it refused to allow me access.

With a PC you can write the pasword in a Word document and copy and past it into the boxes to ensure it is correct.

A MAC will not allow me to do this. As far as I know the new password is correct.

I have bought a legitmate copy of the software.

I have followed the instructions and your programme is not letting me us it.

Paying for a transatlantic telehone call to resolve these issuses is an expensive proposition.

What do I do now?
