my son is an avid photographer with a cannon eps. I just Am a novice with a gopro but I want to keep busy with this on the plane. Thanks

That's a 5 year old discussion, six months after the Cloud was introduced.

I'd love to hear the current Adobe position. I'll ask.

No we still do not have any type of family license available.  A complete list of individual Creative Cloud plans can be found at Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud.

Depending upon the education institution, the children are attending, they may qualify for individual Student and Teachers Creative Cloud memberships.  As Kglad mentioned though there is not much value to using those memberships on a Chromebook.  You will need to use Mac OS or Windows.  Details regarding the current system requirements can be found at Adobe Creative Cloud system requirements Hummblechick.

While there is no family plan, and while you cannot load the full version of PS onto a Chrome book, there are some goos plans for Photoshop. You can buy an annual plan—either prepaid or paid monthly, or a single app plan, paid monthly.

there's no adobe family license and you can't do much with a chromebook.  with the child computers you can navigate to the chrome webstore to see the adobe apps that can be used.  i think they're all free and without access to a non-crippled computer they're all very limited.

to use any of the adobe major programs you need a computer with wins or mac os.
