This is a FAQ page request for needed clarification:

Below is  a selection from a chat 2023-09-13

I have been informed during sign-in that my graphics card is incompatible on my workstation. But all the cards I can find are for gaming. What is appropriate for graphics work such as Photoshop and Camera Raw?

Linta

Thank you for explaining, Len. The Graphics cards are the same for Photoshop and for gaming. For the Photoshop application to run seamlessly you should have a compatible GPU which has a benchmark of 2000 or above.

Thank you for your response. I think the instructions on the FAQ should state that clearly because it is hard to know what to do otherwise. It is possible to get way over powered graphics cards that are entirely inappropriate and expensive just to try to get it to work with ACR etc.

I do understand and relate to the issue. For the Adobe applications to run smoothly or perform certain functions in the application you will need a compatible GPU

.

Perhaps a more purchase-related information page in FAQ would provide much needed relief to all the photographers and other creators who don't keep up on all the technical details of computing but rely heavily on it.
