Fireworks MX 2004 Activation

I have a copy of Macromedia Studio MX 2004 that I have been using on my old PC. Having just upgraded my PC I would like to continue using Fireworks MX 2004. I am able to load the program from the original disc but I am unable to activate the program online even though I tried to submit my licence number. I suspect the program is looking for a Macromedia Server which no longer exists. The program works fine, but I am limited to a 30 day free trial period. Is there any way for Adobe to help me activate my licence. It seems a shame to have to buy another product when Fireworks 2004 works fine and fulfills my limited needs/requirements.

If I cannot use Fireworks 2004 any longer, what other products should I consider using? I mainly use Fireworks to prep images (resizing, brightness, contrast, optimising etc) before uploading to an image heavy web-site. I especially liked the fact that Fireworks was geared to website optimisation.

Many thanks,

Tim
