For Adobe mgmt: Why does my Lightroom version not update?

Yesterday I posted a question on the LR forum that included my version number (2015.6.1) copied right then from Help-About. One of the answers mentioned "... there have been about 16 updates ..."

I have the $10/month subscription to PS and LR, use a few LR tools a lot and PS sparingly, and the LR I have does what I want it to do (mostly). This could be true of PS, as well, but I wouldn't know. Whenever Creative Cloud shows there is an update, I click on it. But, apparently, nothing ever changes on my machine and I don't know why.

What do I need to do to fix this?

The fault, dear friends, is not with Adobe, but with my computer. The Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool was unable to clean it and I have been bumped up to a higher level of support by Adobe.

Thanks for the help, youse guys is great!

I have a similar situation on one of my computers. The CC app is not showing the updates. I would need to do a clean install on my machine (os included), but as we are planning for Windows 10 and that will be a clean install, I let it pass for the moment.

This page has links to Lightroom updates. Keep your Lightroom version up to date

Not clear what you actually need, as it doesn't consider "2015" as a Lightroom version. Adobe tend to mess with the version number display to make it more exciting.

is the cc desktop app installed?

is your os up-to-date?

(and these are user-to-user forums.)

is the cc desktop app installed?

Yes. I just opened it and found an LR update. Alas, it was update to LR-CC not Classic (what I have - that's at the bottom of the list). I clicked on that by mistake and the response was USELESS - the % nr increases and the gray bar expands. Other updates provide me with at least some information on what is being installed, NOT Creative Cloud. Now, I have a mess to clean up.

is your os up-to-date?

Absolutely!

(and these are user-to-user forums.) Adobe does not make it easy to find the proper place for these things. I don't like Adobe.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
