Free up space local storage, store most files on Creative Cloud?

Hi all,

I have no more free space on my computer.  I want to store most of my photos I'm not actively using on the creative cloud (have plenty of space), but I'm having trouble

#1) How do I upload everything to the cloud?  I have tried different things but can't seem to get it all there

#2) How do I delete on my desktop LR CC and make sure they won't delete on cloud?

Please do consider that you still need a backup of your photos. Putting the only copy into an online service would send shivers down my spine.
