General question regarding the stability of Adobe software

Hi,

Firstly, this isn't an attack on the company and I want to just say for the matter that some of the best work I've made in my career has been using Illustrator / Photoshop / after affects with cinema 4d. However, in past 18 / 22 months I've been experiencing some of the strangest, unusual and exotic bugs using illustrator and photoshop and pretty much everything else - on both  macOS / Windows.

For example, only in the past 2 days every time I attempt to move folders / layers to a different artboards randomly 2 folders (Always 2 folders) will stay out on the canvas and I won't move back onto any of the artboards. Additionally, in illustrator my cursor becomes stuck (again, on 2 different platforms, always randomly) and i'm unable to move anything. And, perhaps the worst, randomly I can't move any files on windows (never happened on macOS) when photoshop is open(I have to close it photoshop down) and everything is fine again and files can be freely moved about again. Anyway, there have been so many recently which are are so unusual I don't even know what to google anymore. Suffice to say, there are many more.

So, my question is, and I hope someone on here has any insight on this, perhaps data. Has there been in the past 2, say maybe 3 years, been more reports on bugs / problems across the board on all applications on Adobe Cloud?

Regards

i haven't noticed that.  in general though, the most common problem with all adobe programs is corruption of program preferences.  these problems are resolved by reseting your preferences -

I agree with @kglad, I have not had the issues you describe either, but when I see something flakey on my system or in the classroom, I always Quit and reset preferences.

In PS especially, though, be sure you go into every panel where you have customized things and use the panel menu to save them so they can be reloaded. This includes but is not limited to:

Action sets (the folder)

Custom swatches

Custom gradients

Custom brushes

etc.
