getting started after downloading Lightroom 5

I have just downloaded Lightroom 5 free version and haven't even used it because I can't get started so already wasted a day trial. Can anyone go through it with me. I want to call up photos but they won't go where they are on my computer. Please help. Many thanks. Raewyn

is lr 5 installed? if so, were there any problems with the installation?

if not, did you click file>open?

Yes it downloaded ok but just not sure how to get started - bit impatient I

know but only 30 days to try it.
