Gifting a subscription to someone who is already subscribed

I have a friend who currently has an annual subscription (paid monthly) to creative cloud, and I would like to gift a years subscription to her as a birthday gift.

My question whether I can purchase something like this (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/adobe-creative-cloud-photography-plan-12-month-card-adccphocom#features) and have her redeem it, but in a way that replaces her current annual subscription so she doesn't need to pay for a year.

The solutions I've seem so far seem quite inelegant (ie, ask her to log into her account and pay with my credit card)
