Going from Ps Elements and Lightroom 6.14 to Ps and Lr Subscription

I would like to start the Ps & Lr subscription service.  I have for many years used Ps Elements (currently 2021) and Lightroom 6.14.  My many files are linked and accessable to both programs.  I have several questions on the change as I don't want to get a headache from the transition with file or plug-in problems.

Is the download and set-up of PS & Lr be simple and seamless even with Ps Elements and Lr 6.14 already loaded on my PC?  Please keep in mind, I'm an amateur photographer as well as a senior citizen 😉

Will all the files be automatically (or with instructions)  picked up by the "new" Ps & Lr in the same order in all the same folders?

Will Nik and Topaz plugins automatically (or with instructions) come into Ps & Lr?

Will I lose access to Ps Element and Lightroom 6.14 while I learn the new programs?

My thanks and appreciation to anyone who wants to tackle these questions!

When you move to the subscription, there is Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. Given that you have used Lightroom in the past, you may be better suited to stay with Lightroom Classic which is the updated version of what you had. I don't think it will automatically update your data automatically. You will likely have to open the new Lightroom Classic and open your catalog and let it run an update procedure on your catalog as there have been many updates in between. Your photos should all be fine at that point.

Moving from Elements to full Photoshop I cannot speak to as much. But unless you are using plugins or something that might not upgrade, that could be more of an update for you to go to the full version of photoshop depending on the work you were doing.

Hi @Bob Brad,

I'm just chiming in to see if you got answer to your queries? If you still need help, I can move this discussion to the Lightroom community.

Let me know.

Regards,

Shivangi
