Question

How do I activate Captivate 8

I downloaded a trial version of Captivate 8 last week. Today I purchased an annual subscription but I can't find any way to activate the trial version. It doesn't ask me for a serial number when I start Captivate and I don't see any place to enter one. However, when I publish my presentation, I get a message saying that it will expire in a month because I'm using a trial version.

    Hi hwormser,

If you have purchased the subscription to Captivate 8 then you can activate it using your Adobe ID.

Your Adoe ID is linked to the purchased subscription.

    Dear Rave

Your response does not explain how you accomplish this. I have done the same thing as hwormser - I downloaded the trial product and then purchased a subscription and now get warnings that I need to purchase the product in order for my published project to continue working. Adobe products usually offer up an interface to enter your serial # or continue the trial, but mine does not So . . . where do I enter my Adobe ID?

Sorry eprom61, I don't remember exactly what I did. Go to Adobe.com. If you're not already signed in, then click "Sign in" in the upper left and put in the user email and password that you used to purchase Captivate. "Then go to Manage Account." There must be something there that lets you activate the progrm.

Another possibility would be to open Captivate and go to the Help menu. When I go there, I see an option to "Sign Out". When I select that, I get a warning that I'm going to deactivate all my Adobe applications. So maybe you need to Sign in under the Help menu.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. My memory just isn't that good.
