How do I add an image to adobe spark without it automatically becoming a background image?

So i'm making a brochure on adobe spark and whenever I try to add an image it becomes the background image when all I want is just an image that I can move around and stuff. Like I want to add ab image like the one on the left but whenever I do it does it like the one on the right. Help me plz
