How do I completely uninstall Adobe Updater?

Greetings.

I have been trying to completely remove Adobe Updater from my computational machine, but I'm having troubles as it seems to be stuck in there like a gadfly on a horse' arse. I have uninstalled some very, very annoying toolbars in my time, and I've removed viruses that were a lot easier to remove than this Adobe Updater thing.

What I've tried:

- Looking for a bloody uninstall-executable.

- Removing everything related to Adobe in any way from my computer.

Needless to say, it still came back from the graveyard to haunt me. SO. How do I purge this cursed software once and for all?

Not sure what you're doing, but the AAMUpdater is merely an entry in the registry. It won't go away, but you can prevent it from ever launching. There is no separate install/uninstall. It comes with every Adobe app. Trying to actually remove the files in the OOBE folder would be foolish and damage your Adobe programs...

- Windows+R
- Type, "Services" in the window then hit enter
- Locate "AdobeUpdateService"
- Right Click "AdobeUpdateService"
- On the General Tab, find "Startup type:" about halfway down

- Click on the pull-down menu then select, "Disabled"

- Click on "Apply"

- Click "OK"

- Click "X" in the upper right of the dialog box to exit
