How do I install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design on my new mac laptop because serial number is not accepted?

I bought this product in 2012 and is working good on my desktop. That is the serial number I got when I bought it online.

Do I need to upgrade to CS6?

Check your Adobe account online to see if the serial number is recorded under My Products - see if it is the same as the one you are trying.

you need to use the exact installation files that match your serial number, and if your serial number is for a volume license, you need to go through the volume license portal.

are you using a cd with the installation files?

volume license means that I can install it in different computers?

no. regular users (like me) can install on up to two computers (but for the licensee only, not two different people). volume licensees can install on different computers for different users, Adobe license management, discounts | Adobe Buying Programs

if you're a regular user (in a non-corp/no-school environment), you probaby have a single user license. if that's true, what file are you downloading and what suite are you licensed for?
