How do I turn off 2-step verification?

Currently 2-step verification is NOT enabled in my account settings and yet I still get the hassle of being asked the phone number, code etc. This all started a few weeks ago.

How do I turn it off?

      Having the same problem, driving me crazy. Were you able to stop it from constantly asking for a code from your phone? Would love to know how to stop it even thought two step verification is disabled.
