How do I update an app that was purchased prior to the creative cloud?

I purchased the cs6 suite months before my cloud subscription was coming to an end. I cannot open cs6 after effects because of a mac mavericks OSx error. I saw that the app simply needs to be updated but when I try to open the Adobe Application Manager, it just opens up the cloud and attempts to update through there. The app was never installed through the cloud, it was installed through a disc. Confused, any suggestions?
