How do you deactivate an app on a drive that is no longer accessible?

My hard drive died recently.  I installed Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 from the disks onto my new hard drive (PC) and it won't accept my activation code.  I'm assuming that is because the CS5.5 is still activated on the dead hard drive.  How do I deactivate an app on a drive that is no longer accessible?  I've tried calling...on hold for 45 minutes and I tried chat....was waiting so long I forgot about it and went to bed.  Please help!!  Thank You!!!!

You do not mention your version of Windows (details are needed when asking a question) so the below may not apply

First, that software is old enough that it may not work at all with Windows 10... but

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10
