I have an education account ... UMD professor .... replaced an old imac with a new one and now can't add adobe to my laptop because only get two devices.  (I understand I should have deactivated the old imac while I still had it ... in any event, old hardrive was taken out and destroyed. ) At present, the new imac is my only activated device that exists.

Was this for discontinued Creative Suite or the current Creative Cloud?

If the latter, you can manage devices from your account portal without having to contact support.

Please log-in to your account below.  Click Manage Plans.  Scroll down to Activated Devices.
https://account.adobe.com/plans

If the former, scroll down the same page to Contact Adobe button.  In the chat box, type "AGENT, activation count reset required" followed by Enter key.  Wait for a human.
